A Cool Tool To Prevent Content Affiliate Being Ripped-Off
I've just come across the Tracer service via the fantastic Venture Beat site that I've been following for ages now.
Venture Beat says that Tracer "essentially monitors the content people copy off of web sites and automatically links it back to its origin. For example, if someone was to copy a product description off a seller’s site and paste it into an email to a friend, Tracer would instantly add a URL linking back to the seller’s site where he or she found it. The goal is to help site owners secure credit for their copyrighted work and drive traffic back to their pages where it can generate revenue."
How cool is that? Well, people that steal the content can still remove the URL though. A bit of a problem, but I'm sure they'll develop the technology further to make the solution water-tight.
Does anyone else know of any other services to help prevent plagiarism? I've just started trying out Copy Alerts.

Interesting. A friend of mine recently put a link to a relevant article he had done in a very popular discussion forum. He got a life ban and later saw that bits of his article were used in the main article on the forum owners site !
Thanks for this tip. I do not know of any other services like this but I can see how this can help many of us who provide good content but time and time again, it gets ripped off by other people.
And the best part is Tracer is free :) You cannot argue with that!
